Guest Performers and Choreographers
This is a partial list of the many performers and artists who have appeared with, or worked with, Kittiwake Dance Theatre over the years.
AMY SPECTOR (Choreographer)
Amy Spector graduated from The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago, where she received her B.A. in dance. While at Columbia she had the privilege of studying under renowned dance educators and choreographers such as Carrie Hanson, Darrell Jones, Jan Erkert, Krenly Guzman, Paige Cunningham, Jeff Hancock, Lisa Gonzales, and Liz Burrit as well as master classes with various national and international choreographers and dance companies. Amy has studied Gaga technique with the world-renowned Batsheva Dance Company in Israel. Amy has performed with the Leopold Group, Thread Meddle Outfit, Johnathan Meyer/Khecari Dance Theater, and at Around the Coyote and Rebound Dance Festivals.
PETER LANCKSWEERDT (Guest Performer)
Born in Belgium, Lancksweerdt began his studies at the Royal Ballet School of Antwerp. At 14 years, he entered the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. He graduated in 2013 and continued his training in the Classical Junior Ballet of the Conservatory. There Lancksweerdt danced several roles and classical variations including Romeo and Tybalt in Romeo et Juliette by Paul Chalmer and the role of the principal dancer in Etudes by Harald Lander. Lancksweerdt won prizes at several ballet competitions such as Biarritz and Valenciennes. With Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada he danced in Piaf, Phantom of the Opera, and Ghost of Violence.
YURIKO DIYANOVA (Guest Performer)
Yuriko Diyanova left a career as a classical soloist in Japan to join Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada. A prizewinner at several ballet competitions, she has an extensive classical repertoire which includes principal and soloist roles. Yuriko earned critical notice for her performance as Merlin's mother in the company's third original ballet of the same name. Other roles with the company include: Marcelina in Figaro and Mozart's first love in Amadeus. During the last season, she danced the principal role of Christine in Phantom of the Opera.
